A Christians Response to Israel

Why create this blog? Well, first let me tell you I really didn't want to; however when God places something on your heart to do you become very uncomfortable until you submit. At least that is how it has been for me. Let me give a brief explanation of "my calling".  In 2005, I began to get that empty nest fear. My boys were both going to be graduating from homeschooling the following year and I began to fear for what I would do with all my free time.  I thought I should attend college, get my degree, pursue some of my previous dreams and desires that were put on hold when I became a wife and mother. I began to pray about what it was that God wanted me to do with my time. I did enroll in Colorado Christian University where I obtained my Associate Degree in 2010. It was during these few years that I began to be awakened to a new and very complicated people and land - The Jews and Israel.

I began to seek information. Logically my first step was to seek assistance at my local Christian church. Unfortunately, I was met with something that quite startled me - ignorance and rejection. I was told we don't talk about Israel from the pulpit. Really? Why? Thankfully, the Lord led me to an amazing ministry: Zola Levitt Ministries.  It was through this adorable, fatherly figure Zola (a Messianic Jew) that I began to discover a beautiful people and land.

What are my qualifications for discussing this monumental topic? Am I a theologian, or historian? NO! My ONLY qualification is Jesus Christ and a willingness to serve Him with my life.  My goodness, world leaders and countries are warring against this tiny, yet so supremely significant location. How could I even begin to completely relate or understand the enormity of all this! Trust me, I am way outside my comfort zone, walking on the water.  I am willing though to pray, search, learn, listen and share what I find with you - I know you will be amazed and your faith and love will grow.

Here are some of the topics of my research that I will share with you:
  • We've been grafted in, so what, why?
  • Why should we stand with Israel?
  • What is the future of Israel?
  • Are today's modern Israelites the valid Chosen People of the Bible?
  • What is Replacement Theology and how has the modern church been infiltrated by this dangerous  way of thinking?
  • What is the Church's Responsibility to Israel?
  • Do the Jewish people even want our support?
  • What is the "one new man" that Paul talks of in Ephesians 2:14?
  • Who are the 144,000 spoken of in Revelations?
  • What are the Feasts of Israel and how do they relate to my Gentile faith?
  • and many more...

God has placed a love in my heart for a people and place that I should have known through my years as a Christian and avid Bible reader, but somehow I had missed that MY JESUS was JEWISH and that this is important and matters greatly to my faith.
When God puts a love in your heart for people, He will show you how to reach them with good news of the Gospel. ~ Rick Renner.
God is not finished with Israel and the Jewish people. Our command "to the Jew first" has not ended.  I pray your faith will increase and your love for Israel and the Jewish People will be awakened.

PS - Why did I choose the name Root and Shoot Connect?  When the two come together then we are again whole and complete.

Shalom!

Kelly
